Who You Talk To
You talk to an independent provider from the network. These are local businesses that replace windows and install siding. They run their own crews, set their own prices and hold their own licenses and insurance where required. Thickengineers Windows & Siding makes the introduction. The provider does the work and answers for it.
What Happens on the First Call
Keep it simple. The provider will ask a few basic questions:
- Where is the home, and what type is it?
- How many windows need replacing, or how much siding?
- What is the problem you want solved?
- When would you like work to start?
Then the provider may offer to visit, measure and give a written quote. Have a short list of your daily needs ready, such as school times, pets and work-from-home hours.
What to Ask a Provider
Write these down and keep notes on each answer:
- Will you give me a written quote that lists materials, labor and cleanup?
- Are you licensed and insured where required? Can I see proof?
- Who handles permits, if my town requires them?
- How long will each workday last, and how many people will be on site?
- How will you protect floors, furniture and landscaping?
- Which energy efficient window options fit my home and climate?
- What is the warranty from the manufacturer and from you?
- What happens if the weather turns during the job?
Do This, Not That
Do compare at least two written quotes. Do read the contract before signing. Do tell the provider about kids, pets and quiet hours.
Do not pay the full price up front. Do not sign under pressure. Do not skip questions because you feel rushed.
